Nellie in progress

And now for a string of somewhat related process pictures.

First off is a calendar I made for the project. It went through so many revisions it is pretty much a scribbly mess with little to no relationship to reality. As one can see I gave up even trying to plan for the final week.

Trying latex. Foolishly I believed it would be easier than silicone. Easier is relative. I think it is easier in the long run for something to be faster and more effective. After blowing the whole first week on this mold I mangled it beyond its usefulness. It smells bad too.
Once I am back on the TAP Silicone wagon, things start to go faster. (see blue mold). Unfortunately, i have rushed through everything. Obsessed with quantity, I shot through the first tests where I should have been concerned with quality.

As a result the number is growing, but it is a grueling process filled with the pitfalls of poor planning.
I stopped doing many process photos, but I successfully resisted the urge to use the blog to vent and complain. A small victory this post deters from.

This last photo, i just think is cute. (loading first batch back from Cornish)

I made a lot of mistakes in a lot of places in this project. As a  result not only did i fail to reach my goal number, i burnt myself out on it. (I am pretty sure John caught me telling the busts how much i hated them, seriously i don't normally talk to my art.) I now have around 50 half finished nellie's. We've had some time apart, and i think i can get back to resolving the cleanup. Now that I am supposed to be working on something else, scraping them can be my latest procrastination hobby.
